Family Law
For many years, we have helped people facing family law problems, including divorce or separation, child custody and support, paternity, grandparents’ rights and disputes over estates and inheritances. We understand that family law matters affect the most important aspects of peoples’ lives. Therefore, we vigorously represent our family law clients in resolving these disputes, be it through negotiated resolution or through litigation. Given that we practice in several states we are uniquely suited to help you solve the problems that arise when one parent resides in another state. With our extensive trial experience we are able to help you decide if it is worth the costs of proceeding to trial and be sure you are well prepared for any courtroom appearance.
Insurance Coverage Disputes
After a loss or injury occurs, many people are surprised to find that their insurer declines to cover the loss. We represent both business and individual clients in addressing coverage issues, through both negotiation and, when necessary, litigation.
Business Litigation and Counseling
We have represented businesses of various sizes, ranging from sole proprietorships and partnerships to medium and large sized corporations. In most circumstances, our goal is to keep our business clients out of court and we frequently provide counseling on how best to avoid litigation. However, we also regularly and vigorously litigate business disputes.
We provide representation to our business clients faced with allegations of criminal conduct and investigations by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Both the criminal justice system and the securities regulatory system can present particular challenges in today's business climate. We take a proactive approach to ensure that our clients deal with these issues with the least disruption possible of their business and personal lives.
In addition to litigation and counseling, we regularly practice in the area of business transactions, including the setting up and restructuring of businesses, the dissolution of existing business entities, and the drafting and negotiation of contracts.
Professional Licensing Defense
Many professionals know that the loss or suspension of a professional license can be personally and professionally devastating. We have represented licensees before a range of regulatory boards, particularly in the health care field. We provide a full range of services to our licensee clients, including counseling, representation through the investigatory phase and defense at hearing if formal charges are brought.
